Quilting Classes for April 2013

Fiber Artist
Spring
has sprung and quilting classes have begun!! Due to the great response from Sisters
Quilting Collective and the 2nd Annual Quilt Exhibit, quilting and quilting art classes
will begin in April 2013. Classes have been selected “that will suit quilt lovers
from beginners to the experienced.
Well
known fiber artist and quilting instructor, Jan Hollins, will inspire you to
bring out your creative side of quilting whether it he traditional or diving into
the world of art quilts. Class times are designed to accommodate completion of projects
to be taken at the end of the class. We will keep them small but powerful! - This
will be a great time to share ideas, techniques, fabrics, colors, blocks,
embellishments and good company. You will need to bring your own working sewing
machine. (If it has been in storage for a while, please take it and have it serviced
prior to the class) You will also need these basic supplies:
Pins,
needles, thread, seam ripper, metal edge rulers, chalk, scissors or rotary cutter
and fabric depending on the class.
CLASSES:
LOG CABIN BLOCK DESIGN OR STRIP QUILT: Basic Quilting class using one of three log cabin block patterns or fabric
strips. Great class for beginners and those who like to start with traditional quilt
design. Some fabrics will be available for sale or bring 3 yards in various colors
of your favorites. Batting included in fee.

QUILTS WITH CURVE BLOCK DESIGN: Non-traditional Quilts with Curve design will allow you to be free to
explore improvisational quilting methods. It is best to use vibrant colors in fabrics
of batiks and solids for dramatic affect. Some fabrics will be available for sale
or bring yard of batik and yards of matching solids. Batting included in fee.
